Sonarpad is an open source project. The application is not designed to collect personal data on behalf of the author. Some features, when used by the user, may connect to external services or to the official website to provide content, downloads, or online features.
Project maintainer
The Sonarpad project is developed and maintained by Ambrogio Riili. For privacy-related requests, you can use the contact form on the website or write to the email address shown on the official website.
Data processed by the website
- When you visit sonarpad.com, the server may record technical data needed for website operation and security, such as IP address, date and time of the request, requested page, browser user agent, and technical errors.
- This data is used for security, maintenance, error diagnosis, and protection against abuse or spam.
- The website may use a technical cookie called sonarpad_lang to remember the language selected by the user. This cookie is not used for advertising or profiling.
Contact form
If you use the contact form, the data you voluntarily enter is processed, such as first name, last name, email address, subject, and message. This data is used only to read the request and reply. It may be stored in the project email inbox and in technical logs needed to verify correct message delivery.
Guestbook
If you sign the guestbook, the data you choose to publish may become visible on the website. Enter only information that you want to make public. For removal requests, you can contact the project maintainer.
Sonarpad application
- Sonarpad is not designed to send the content of documents opened by the user to the author.
- Some online features may make requests to external services, for example to search content, open web pages, retrieve metadata, listen to radio, use podcasts, YouTube, Wikipedia, or other supported services.
- When you use external services, those services may receive technical request data, such as your IP address and the terms or URLs needed to provide the requested content.
- If a Sonarpad feature calls a service hosted on sonarpad.com, the server may record technical logs for security, maintenance, and abuse prevention.
Sonarpad Mobile for iOS and Android
- Sonarpad Mobile is available for mobile devices and provides features for documents, news, podcasts, radio, routes, weather, calendar, Wikipedia, imports from external services, and other utilities.
- Documents created or imported in the app are handled on the user’s device, except when the user voluntarily chooses to use external services or online features.
- Some features may send requests to external services to provide the content requested by the user, such as news and RSS, podcasts, online radio, weather, routes, Wikipedia, Project Gutenberg, LibriVox, Internet Archive, PoetryDB, Dropbox, or other services available in the app.
- When the user uses these features, external services may receive technical data needed for operation, such as IP address, search terms, cities or addresses entered by the user, requested URLs, content metadata, and other data needed to provide the selected feature.
- Dropbox connection, when available, is optional. The user may authorize Dropbox access to import files or folders. Access tokens are used by the app to provide the requested feature and can be removed by disconnecting Dropbox from the app.
- Text-to-speech features may use the device system voice or external services, depending on the settings chosen by the user. When an external text-to-speech service is used, the text to be read may be sent to the service needed to generate the audio.
- Sonarpad does not use behavioral advertising, does not sell personal data, and is not designed to track users across apps and websites owned by other companies.
- Technical app logs are intended for diagnosis and support. If the user chooses to copy or send them to the developer, they may contain technical information useful to understand the reported problem.
Third-party services
Sonarpad and the website may link or connect to third-party services, such as GitHub for source code and downloads, media services, radio services, transcription services, or other online services chosen by the user. Each external service applies its own privacy policy.
Security
Reasonable measures are used to protect the website and reduce spam, abuse, and unauthorized access. However, no online system can be considered 100% secure.
Data retention
Contact message data may be kept for the time needed to handle the request. Technical logs may be kept for the time needed for security, maintenance, and problem diagnosis.
User rights
You may ask for information about data concerning you, request correction or deletion where applicable, and object to processing that is not necessary. To exercise these rights, you can contact the project maintainer through the official website.
Children
Sonarpad is not designed to intentionally collect personal data from children. If you believe that personal data from a child has been submitted, contact the maintainer to request removal.
